Simone Battiston

simoneSimone Battiston is senior lecturer in Italian Studies and History. His research interests include migration history, transnational politics and labour and artisan history. His current research focuses on the history of Italian immigrant workers and entrepreneurs in the building and construction industry in Australia, with a particular attention to terrazzo and mosaic artisans, external voting behaviour, and history and memory of radical migrants. He is a member of the Australian History Association (AHA) and of the Australian Society for the Study of Labour History (ASSLH). He is also the Course Director of the Bachelor of Arts and Languages Discipline Convenor in the School of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities.
