Peter Robinson teaches sociology and history at Swinburne University of Technology. His first book, The Changing World of Gay Men was published in 2008 (Palgrave Macmillan) and was based on interviews with three generations of Australian men, aged 20–79. In 2010, The Australian Sociological Association awarded it the inaugural Raewyn Connell prize for the best first book in Australian Sociology. His research interests include ageing, sexuality, social justice, and working lives. His second book, Gay Men’s Relationship Stories Across the Life Course was published in June 2013 and drew on interviews with 97 men from Australia, England, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, and the USA. He is working on a third book for Palgrave Macmillan on gay men’s working lives, retirement, and old age, which is based on an international sample of 82 men aged 18–87 and due for publication in 2017.
