The History and Politics Workshop is a research cluster at Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia. It is convened by Associate Professor Lorenzo Veracini. The Workshop brings together scholars from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds.
We research history with an eye to the present, to understand how we got to the world we live in, and we research politics with the knowledge that we need to appreciate historical processes in order to make sense of contemporary phenomena. The Swinburne History and Politics Workshop examines critically the structures of inequality, imbalances of power, and political practice through studies in History, International Studies, and Politics and International Relations.
