Denise_FrizzoBrazilian external voting and transnationalism: emigrant connections, drivers and agendas

This research investigates Brazilian external voting and political transnational relationships of emigrants with Brazil. This study seeks to identify the aspects involving external voting empirically and from the standpoint of emigrants. It examines whether external voting is an expectation of Brazilian emigrants, how their transnational connections with Brazil are reflected by their emigrant voting rights, and in what context the Brazilian vote abroad is driven. Denise’s research interests include international migration, Brazil, transnationalism, citizenship rights and external voting (Supervised by Bruno Mascitelli).
