Homeland politics and the Emigrant Vote: the view from Italy
This research investigates the drivers that fostered the implementation of the expatriate voting policy in the Italian electoral system and the political interest demonstrated towards Italian communities overseas by political parties over the years. This research also analyses the acquisition process of citizenship rights for migrants with dual citizenship that live permanently overseas. Chiara’s research interests include international relations and comparative politics, political parties behaviour, expatriate voting, transnationalism and citizenship rights.
