With a key emphasis on social justice, the Politics and History program at Swinburne University examines the structures of inequality, imbalances of power, and political practice through studies in History, Politics and International Relations, and Global Studies.
Why study with the Politics and History discipline at Swinburne?
We offer a range of units which emphasise critical understandings of history and politics. We engage with current issues, and debates embedded in them, in a collegial culture. Students have the opportunity to study abroad, either for short cultural tours, or for a whole semester at any of our partner universities across the world. Students widen their networks and develop real-world skills through placements with political parties, government departments, political and social research institutions, aid and advocacy organisations.
